Artistic rock painting, dating back to the neolithic era. The painting has been discovered in Wenshan county, southwest China's Yunnan province.

The work was found during the course of the third national cultural relics survey. The paintings are drawn with cinnabar. There are realistic depictions of people and animals. There also are several cryptic symbols.

Experts say the paintings relate to a sacred ceremony. The stone paintings date to somewhere between the late neolithic era and the Han dynasty, over 2,000 years ago.
