The Confucius Pedigree is now undergoing a fifth major revision since it was started in 1998. The revision committee in Shandong Province, says it plans to add another 70 branches of Confucius's descendants to the updated version of the Pedigree. The additions testify to the vast extension of the philosopher's line over the past 2500 years.
For the first time, female, ethnic and overseas offspring will have their names listed on the pedigree.
