Special Report: HK 10 Years
Preparations are well in hand for the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China. A detail list of events for July the first was announced on Sunday.
Sky diving and aerobatic displays will mark some of the PLA's contributions to the occasion. They are due to link up with the big parade planned for July the first. But before that the teams will give a preview of their breathtaking performances across the wide blue skies, on June the 28th.
With over five thousand performers, the parade will be biggest ever of its kind in Hong Kong. Among those taking part will be a dozen of groups from across China. They include China's biggest gong and drum band from Fuxiang, internationally famed dragon dancers from Zhanjiang and the folk dancers from Ancai. Over 800 groups and units will be involved.
And special parade guests will be ten children born on July the first 1997, the historic date of Hong Kong's return to China.
