Chinese tire makers oppose US tariff

The tariff proposal has aroused opposition from Chinese tire producers. They belive the tariff will hurt both them and American consumers. It will cause the whole tire market to fluctuate.

Lei Huai Chin, GITI Managing Director said "Chinese products satisfied US consumers' demand for tires with high-quality and low prices. Many American tire producers have retreated from the market because they believed the return was not attractive. They preferred to invest in products which have higher returns. The tariff could not create more jobs, because American producers would not came back to the market. What mostly like to happen is that more and more tires made in other places in the world entering the US market, and the prices will dramatically rise during the process, consumers' benefits will be hurt.
