China trade outlook in H2 remains bleak

The Ministry of Commerce says China's export sector will remain weak in the second half of this year due to the global economic downturn. At a meeting with the China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, officials urged insurers to extend more help to exporters.

Trade has been a key engine for the country's rapid economic growth over the past few years. But a slump in global demand has caused a shortfall for Chinese exporters since last November.
