Mainland visitors are likely to enjoy free tours of the island in July. The Taiwan-based China Times reports that mainland students will also be able to visit the island for study tours this summer.

Taiwan authorities earlier this month announced they would push ahead mainland visitors' free tours around the island. Mainland authorities said they need further evaluation, but agreed to lower the cap for the number of tour group members from 10 to 5 people.

Industry insiders in Taiwan say they will increase mainland tourists' visiting time for scenic spots to give them more flexibility and a less rushed tour. Meanwhile, students from mainland middle and primary schools as well as kindergartens are also scheduled to visit Taiwan in July for an eight to ten-day study tour.
