The Chinese mainland is about to send three procurement delegations to Taiwan in an effort to further boost cross-strait ties. The Association of Economy of Trade Across the Taiwan Straits says the first group will head for the island on May 31st.
About 89 people from over 40 mainland companies will join the delegation, including Haier, TCL, and Lenovo. The group is expected to purchase home appliances, telecommunication products, and computers. They plan to spend as much as 10-billion US dollars.
Another two procurement groups will also set off in June and July. They will extend the spending spree to other industries like machinery, cultural creative industry, and craftwork.
Authorities in Taiwan say they will hold a procurement fair to help the island's industry insiders seize the opportunities.
