8 measures have been announced by the Head of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, all aimed at boosting economic relations across the Straits.
According to Wang Yi, the mainland plans to send out delegations from various sectors including electronics, communications, bio-medicine, and marine transport to help mainland companies make concrete progress in investments in Taiwan. Meanwhile, 2 separate delegations will travel to the island this year, on a mission to buy up farm produce.
On the flip side, the mainland has also agreed to lend further support to Taiwan enterprises keen on taking part in key projects and tapping into the mainland market.
In addition, more tourists from the mainland are expected to visit Taiwan. Other areas of cooperation, 11 new professional qualification examinations held on the mainland will be open to Taiwan residents. 4 new Taiwan agricultural parks are set to be built in the provinces of Fujian, Anhui and Jiangsu.
And finally, the mainland will also allow legal firms from Taiwan to set up subsidiaries in Fuzhou and Xiamen.
