Tours to Thailand are popular with Guangdong residents. Major travel agencies in the South China province say that due to considerations about the safety of tourists they have decided to halt Thailand tours for one week. After that period, they will determine their plans according to the situation in Thailand. Tourists who have already signed up for this week's tours to Thailand can choose to either postpone, change or cancel tours.

Zeng Yi, Guangdong Travel Agency Employee said "We have launched many alternative routes for such tourists, including tours to Bali and Hokkaido. So they can change their tour packages."

In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, travel agencies have also canceled Thailand tours temporarily. They are talking with travellers helping them to change routes or departure dates.
