Provinces like Shaanxi, Shandong and Yunnan have started up an inspection mechanism that keeps track of returning migrant workers. A system of daily reports has been launched in those areas to better understand the demands of migrant workers.
In Xinyu city in Jiangxi Province, the local government has allocated over 6 and a half million yuan in training technicians. So far, over half of the returned migrant workers who have received the training have found new jobs in their hometowns. Similar situations are also happening in other areas around the country.
In Weishi county, Henan Province, technician training schools will receive 300 to 600 yuan worth of subsidies for each worker they train. Over the past two months, local schools have trained around 1000 workers.
Zhang Xiaoxue, Migrant worker of Weishi County of Henan Province said "Teachers here are excellent. I've learned a lot. I hope I can find a new job after the training."
Meanwhile, provinces such as Jiling, Jiangsu and Guangdong have explored more employment opportunities for migrant workers.
In a city in Guangdong Province, 160 returned migrant workers have been contracted to cultivate 4000 hectares of woodland.
In the quake-hit areas of Sichuan Province, returned migrant workers will enjoy tax cuts if they find new jobs at home.
Meanwhile, other areas around the nation have also allocated special funds to support people who start their own businesses.
