Special Report: 2007 Spring FestivalOn weekend, major airline companies in China announced their additional flight plan during the Spring Festival. There will be altogether 10,000 extra flights during the festival, up by 10 percent compared to the same period last year. And the price will be lower than last year thanks to the additional flights.
According to the quoted price, from February 3rd to 12th, travel agencies still offer considerable discounts to the air tickets from Beijing to most cities of the country. Travellers could even buy half-priced tickets to cities such as Hangzhou, Dalian, and Qingdao. Referring to hotlines such as Kunming and Wenzhou, travellers could hardly get tickets during the same period in previous years, but they now can easily buy them, with 30 percent discount.
And in the railway sector, Guangzhou Railway Bureau announced on Sunday to start the Spring Festival Transportation 6 days ahead of the schedule. Statistics show there are altogether 22 million migrant workers travelling home by railway during the Spring Festival, however the transportation capacity is limited to only 5.6 million passengers. The Guangzhou Railway Bureau has launched tickets delivery to those who booked over 100 tickets.
