Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse has arrived in Beijing for a seven-day state visit.

Rajapakse is to hold talks with top Chinese leaders, including President Hu Jintao. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Besides Beijing, the Sri Lankan president will also visit Hubei Province in central China, as well as Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Asia Today reporter, Wan Chunning, earlier spoke with President Rajapaksa in Colombo. The President talked about the 50-year Sino-Sri Lanka relations.
