SANTIAGO, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The Santiago office of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) launched Thursday a campaign entitled "The Second International Cookbook" to fight hunger.

The campaign, part of the Hunger-free Latin America initiative, will organize cooks, gourmets and experts in the region to create original recipes with local agricultural products as the raw material.

The campaign is aimed at helping those with malnutrition problems to take advantage of the materials they have easy access to and to improve the awareness of malnutrition in the region.

According to FAO, the recipes will also help to preserve the gastronomic culture in the region.
