The meeting placed border inspection and quarantine as the major tasks to prevent the spread of the disease, and stressed that no omission could be allowed in any links. Passengers from the disease-infected countries and regions should go through strict medical checkups, and all the transportation and cargo should be disinfected.

The meeting also pushed for an effective and transparent disease reporting system. And all suspected and confirmed cases need to be quarantined and treated as early as possible.

The State Council also mentioned the need for international cooperation to reduce infection, and that information and technological exchange will strengthen between related countries and organizations. Research is also needed to develop and produce anti-virus vaccines, and a sufficient stock of prevention materials.
