Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare initially reported 3 confirmed cases on Friday. They exhibited flu-like symptoms on the way back from a school trip to Canada.
On Saturday afternoon, another student travelling with the 3 patients was diagnosed as positive. The Japanese Health Ministry has urged those who were on the same flight with the patients to contact health authorities.
Prime Minister, Taro Aso, says Japan will take strict quarantine measures at airports and other public places to prevent the new flu from spreading further.
