The US has reported its third A/H1-N1 flu-related death. Canada and Costa Rica have also confirmed their first fatalities, bringing the number of countries that have reported human deaths caused by the virus to four.

The US has 2,532 confirmed cases of the A/H1-N1 flu in 44 states, as well as the three deaths.

Washington state health officials reported the state's first death associated with the flu on Saturday.

The man had an underlying heart condition and died last week from what appeared to be complications from the virus.
