The meeting comes amid high tension on the Korean peninsula. It will also be the first between the two governments since South Korean President Lee Myung-bak took office last February.

South Korean officials said on Sunday that the government will send a team of about 10 officials to the Kaesong industrial complex in the DPRK next Tuesday.

The DPRK made the proposal on Saturday, saying the meeting would only cover issues related to the Kaesong complex but withheld other details.
