China calls for restraint from parties over DPRK satellite launch

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has repeated its stance on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's recent rocket launch.

Foreign ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu, says  China urges all parties involved to show restraint and avoid any moves that could further increase tension in the region.

Jiang says this is not only in the interest of China, but also in the interest of the international community. She says China hopes all parties use diplomacy to build a nuclear-free Korean Peninsular.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said,"China hopes all parties concerned will properly handle this issue through dialogue and consultation to denuclearize the Peninsula, and maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in northeast Asia."
