ASEAN leaders will meet in Thailand this weekend. Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has increased security force, and says the summit will go ahead as planned.

However, a leader of the pro-Thaksin United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship said the situation in Thailand has blurred the future of the summit.
Jatuporn Prompan, UDD, said, "I don't know what the people outside Thailand would think about this situation. The situation in our country is not normal. Hundreds of thousands will be staging the protest from the Government House and different areas as well as Pattaya -- this will start from April 7th. I'm not sure if other countries will be able to participate in the ASEAN meeting. The situation now is different to last time. At that time the red-shirt protestors took a step back and so the government could hold the ASEAN on February 27th."
