DPRK: Every country is entitled to use space peacefully

The DPRK's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations told reporters on Tuesday that the DPRK had launched a satellite, not a missile.

He emphasized that every country was entitled to use outer space peacefully, and that there had been no violation of any UN resolution.

He said the DPRK would take "strong steps" if the 15-nation body took any unfavorable action against his country.

Pak Tok Hun, DPRK Deputy Permanent Rep. to UN, said, "Every country has the right, the inevitable right, to use the outer space, peacefully. If the Security Council they take any kind of steps, whichever, we will consider this is an encroachment upon the sovereignty of our country and the next option will be ours. Necessary and strong steps will follow that."
