DPRK releases video of launch

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has released video of what it says shows a rocket being launched into space.

The images are the only ones so far to reach the public domain. Pyongyang carried out the launch on Sunday from the coastal Musudan-ri launch pad in northeastern DPRK.

It says it put a satellite into orbit but the world is analyzing what appears to be largely another failure.

The distance that the rocket travelled was twice as far as anything the country previously sent up.

The DPRK claims it is entitled to the peaceful use of space and says it plans to launch more satellites.
