China has unveiled a three-year action plan for health care reform. It's meant to lay a solid foundation for equitable and universal access to essential health care.

China has unveiled a three-year action plan for health  care reform.

Highlights:

1. Build 2,000 county-level hospitals

-- Fund the construction of 29,000 and upgrade 5,000 township hospitals

-- Fund the construction of village clinics in remote areas

2. Build or upgrade 3,700 community health centers,

-- 11,000 community health stations

3. Health insurance subsidy: up 50% to 120 yuan per person for unemployed urban residents and farmers
