Question 1: Health care reform has long been a topic for discussion in China, but the reform plan has only just now been approved after more than two years' revision and debates. Do you think the current economic situation played a big part in the decision of policymakers to pass the scheme right now?
Question 2: What obstacles do you see lying ahead for China's medical reforms and what can the government do to overcome these?
Question 3: The government's plan includes building more clinics in rural areas. This will mean a revival of village doctors who used to be very active in the countryside. What kind of assessment mechanism should the government put in place to ensure such practices are well managed?
