Valentine's Day is a popular day to wed for couples seeking a romantic start to married life. On February fourteenth thousands of brides and grooms made their vows at mass weddings designed to promote family values and protect children's rights.

In Peru, more than two hundred couples tied the knot in the capital, Lima on Valentine's Day.

Brides and grooms were joined at the ceremony by relatives and friends.

After the wedding, the newlyweds and their guests danced the night away.

The wedding licenses and parties were completely free.

In Mexico City, more than 600 couples were married in a large tent at the former Olympic Village.

This is the second year a mass wedding sponsored by the local government has taken place.
