Saturday marks Valentine's Day when people traditionally pledge their love to their romantic partner. Let's look at how people around the world have been marking the day this year.

Many say Paris is the obvious destination for lovers.

Kisses, cards, chocolates or flowers are some of the ways to say "I love you."

But for many, the ultimate gift is a trip to Paris, the city of light or, as some would call it, the city of romance.

Over in Italy...In a sunny but chilly Rome, couples are preparing to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Many lovers are expected to make their way down to Rome's  famous Ponte Milvio bridge to mark the occasion.

Couples attach a padlock onto the ancient bridge, and then toss its key into the Tiber river to symbolize eternal love.
