Chinese premier arrives in Switzerland for visit, Davos forum

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has arrived in Switzerland for an official visit. He is also scheduled to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao (C) shakes hands with Swiss  Vice President and Minister of Economy Doris Leuthard  greeting him upon his arrival at the airport in Zurich Jan.  27, 2009. Wen arrived in Zurich on Tuesday to start an  official visit to Switzerland and to attend the upcoming  annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Switzerland  is the first leg of Wen's European tour, which will also  take him to Germany, the European Union headquarters,  Spain and Britain.(Xinhua/Lan Hongguang)

This marks Wen Jiabao's first visit to Switzerland since assuming the post of premier. During the WEF meeting in Davos, Premier Wen will deliver a speech.

He will highlight the measures China has taken to deal with the global financial crisis. Switzerland is the first leg of Premier Wen Jiabao's European tour. He will later travel to Germany,the European Union headquarters and Spain and Britain.
