Special Report: Terror attacks in MumbaiPakistan's foreign minister has said his country will cooperate in the investigation into the Mumbai terror attacks. Speaking at a press conference in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, Shah Mahmood Qureshi also stressed it's in the best interests of Pakistan to maintain good relations with India.
Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, said the Pakistani government strongly condemned the barbaric acts of terrorism in the Indian city of Mumbai.
And he added that his country is prepared to offer unconditional support and assistance to find out who was behind the attacks.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, "Any entity or group involved in this ghastly act, the government of Pakistan will proceed against it."
Some sections of the Indian media have pointed fingers at Pakistan for the attacks on India's financial center.
But Qureshi urged them to act responsibly, saying such hasty conclusions will only serve the terrorists' interests.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, "The Indian leadership has not blamed the government of Pakistan. Please be very clear on that. They are suspecting, at this stage, suspecting perhaps groups or organizations that could have presence here to this act."
The foreign minister noted that Pakistan itself has also been one of the victims of terrorist activities.
He said Pakistan will continue to do all it can in the fight against terrorism.
Qureshi stressed Pakistan puts a high value on friendly ties with its neighbor.
And he said he believed that their relationship plays an important role in maintaining the peace of the region.
