There's been a mixed reaction towards Mughniyeh's death.
Mourners paid their respects to Imad Mughniyeh in Beirut's southern suburb.
The senior Hezbollah commander was killed in a car bomb explosion in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Tuesday night.
Hezbollah has accused Israel of assassinating Mughniyeh by planting a bomb in his car.
Sheik Afif Al-Nabousi, Shi`it Cleric Close to Hezbollah, said, "We call on the leadership of the Islamic Resistance to respond to their treacherous operation with a painful blow to the Zionist entity. The Israeli hand has reached one of the pillars of the resistance and it should get a strong response."
In Gaza, Hamas called for the Arab world to unite against Israel.
Israel has denied involvement in Mughniyeh's death.
But some Israeli officials praised the attack.
Dani Yatom, Parlinment Member of Labor Party, said, "In the fight against terror today by the free and democratic world, I think that the free and democratic world today achieved a very, very important goal."
The US has also welcomed Mughniyeh's death, while Syria condemned the killing.
While being revered in some circles as a master commander in the Islamic resistance, Mughniyeh was equally reviled in many other quarters as a murderer.
He was wanted for alleged involvement in several major bombing incidents, including the 1983 bombing of the US Marines barracks in Beirut, in which more than 240 Americans died.
