Monday's attack is the first suicide bombing in the country in a year.

It happened near Israel's heavily guarded nuclear reactor.

The explosion happened at a shopping center in the small, working class town of 37-thousand people.

Israeli police say they killed a second suicide bomber before he could detonate his explosives belt.

The dead Israeli woman has not been identified yet.

The Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a violent offshoot of Fatah movement claims responsibility.

Abu Al-Walid, Spokesman of Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, said, "We, the Al-Aqsa Martyr Brigades, and Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades and the United Resistance announce our full responsibility for the suicide bombings in Dimona which were carried out by the martyrs Loai Zaki Al-Aghwani and Moussa Arafat."

The site of the explosion is less than 10 kilometers from the reactor site.

Abu Al-Walid, Spokesman of Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, said, "The attack took place in the most fortified location and we told the Israeli enemy that resistance will continue until the occupation has ended. Martyrdom operations will continue."

Israeli officials say the attack complicates the peace process that has brought a glimmer of hope following the Middle East peace conference late last year.

Ehud Olmert, Israeli Prime Minister, said, "It was a very harsh incident that only points again to the complexities that we deal with daily. I have said more than once in the past few weeks that a constant war is being conducted in the south of the country, a war of terror against us and our war against terror, this war will continue, terrorism will be hit. We will not relent."

Shortly after the attack, Israeli aircraft killed Amer Qarmout, a senior commander in the Hamas-affiliated Popular Resistance Committees in Gaza. Thousands marched in funeral process for Qarmout.
