Pakistan's interior ministry says President Pervez Musharraf has assured Scotland Yard investigators of the government's full co-operation in the probe into the death of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Musharraf has vowed to punish her killers.

The Interior Ministry says the investigators are totally free to carry out their investigations.

Javed Iqbal Cheema, Spokesman of Pakistan's Interior Minister, said, "The primary purpose of the meeting was they wanted to thank the President and the Pakistani government for providing them with complete support and freedom in their investigations. They have also shown their commitment to unearth the truth and to try to reach a conclusive result."

President Musharraf has met a team of Scotland Yard detectives who are in Pakistan to investigate the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.

Musharraf says his government is committed to finding those behind the assassination and bringing them to justice.

He has assured the British investigators of his government's full support and cooperation in the probe.

Earlier, British detectives visited hospitals and took statements from injured police officers and others, trying to find more new clues.
