Iran slashes gas exports to Turkey

Iran has reduced natural gas exports to Turkey after Turkmenistan halted supplies to Iran.

Local media reports Iran has slashed its daily sales to Turkey by around 75 percent.

Iranian officials say Turkmenistan had stopped daily exports of up to 23 million cubic meters of gas to Iran.

They blame operational factors, but some Iranian media suggest it might be linked to a pricing dispute.

Turkey, a regional energy transit hub, has a natural gas supply contract with Iran.
