Former prime minister and Pakistan People's Party leader Benazir Bhutto is urging people not to boycott January's national elections.
Bhutto says she will run in the election and hopes to work hand in hand with other opposition parties. She also says if she wins, she will promote peace and prosperity in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, another former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, held a rally in Punjab province. He plans to meet Bhutto to convince her to join his party in an election boycott.

Sharif's party and other opposition parties have threatened a boycott unless President Musharraf reinstates about a dozen Supreme Court judges he fired after declaring emergency rule last month.
