Hill: Positive on DPRK nuclear disablement

The top U.S. envoy to DPRK nuclear talks says there has been progress on disabling the DPRK's atomic facilities under an international agreement.

But Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill would not say whether a deal could be clinched by year-end.

This would lead to Pyongyang's removal from a US terrorist blacklist.

Hill is to meet his DPRK counterpart Kim Kye-gwan and possibly other officials in Pyongyang during a visit between December the 3rd to 5th.

He will also travel to Yongbyon to observe the disablement of a nuclear reactor there, and meet US experts who aim to finish the job by the end of the year.

A round of six-party talks is expected from December the 6th to 8th in Beijing, but no official dates have been set.
