The DPRK is cooperating with US experts to disable its nuclear weapons facilities. That's the word from the US State Department's top expert on Korea, Sung Kim. He says the entire process is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Kim made the remarks after arriving at the Incheon International Airport west of Seoul. Earlier he paid a visit to the DPRK's Yongbyon nuclear complex.

Kim said disablement has begun at three major facilities there. They include a five-megawatt reactor, and nuclear fuel fabrication and reprocessing plants.

The US and other countries have declined to state exactly how the DPRK's nuclear weapons facilities will be disabled.
