China, ASEAN trade volume increasing

Increasing interaction between China and the ASEAN region has helped businesses from both sides. Contracts and exchange of technology are a huge draw at the Expo, and many people there are far from first-time visitors.

This sale manager from a shoe factory in Vietnam is on his second visit to the China-ASEAN expo. Since he first attended the expo, he has set up a sales center in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Last year alone, he sold 200,000 pairs of shoes.

A Vietnamese businessman said, "Yunnan province is, for us, an important market. Yearly, our sales volume in the province could reach 2 to 3 million yuan."

Peng Feirong of Guangxi State Farms has attended all four expos. The farms' contract volume with ASEAN countries is worth billions of yuan.

Their techniques for planting and processing have been exported to many ASEAN countries.

Peng Feirong from Guangxi State Farms said, "We have various cooperation projects with ASEAN member countries. For instance, in Philippines, the main projects are mainly focused on the sugar industry. While in Indonesia and Vietnam, it is mainly planting and processing."
