China opens embassy in Costa Rica

In Central America, the Chinese embassy in Costa Rica opens Thursday in San Jose. Since the two countries established diplomatic relations in June, both have been optimistic about the future development of bilateral ties.

Staff were rehearsing for Thursday's opening ceremony of the Chinese embassy in Costa Rica. And, local residents came for information about visa-applications to China.

Wang Xiaoyuan is China's first ambassador to the Central American country in six decades. He expressed great optimism for the current Sino-Costa Rican relationship.
