People gathered around the Olympic Countdown Clock in Tian An Men Square to await the moment when it would be 500 days until the Beijing Olympic Games.
With most of the sports venues nearly complete people are now thinking about tickets.
Ms. Weng, Beijing resident, said, "I know the tickets will be sold soon."
According to surveys, getting tickets tops the list of the people's concerns about the Olympic Games.
The Beijing Olympic Games' Organizing Committee has a series of methods for handling ticket sales and local fans will be able to get tickets starting next month.
Other people say Beijing residents should take this opportunity to improve their manners and present an even more welcoming face to visitors.
