Special Report: 2007 NPC & CPPCCBefore the opening of the session, CCTV's Mao Xuzhi spoke with NPC Deputy, Fu Yonglin, to find out more about his views on major issues of the ongoing meeting.
1. It is the last year for you to perform as the current NPC deputy. How would you evaluate your role as one of China's law makers in the past 5 years?
2. You're from the background of education. Well, the government scraped education fees for rural kids from western provinces last year. And this year, it will waive all tuition fees for all rural kids. Why does the government attached so much attention to education?
3. This year, you and other law makers will deliberated the property law. In your opinion, why the current NPC session deliberated such a controversial law at this particular moment?
This year's NPC session will last for 12 days, two days longer than the previous session. The reasons behind is to allow deputies to have more time to deliberated the two draft laws and put forward their suggestions. The draft laws will be publicized to NPC deputies on Thursday.
