Five Chinese workers are back home after being held hostage for two weeks in Nigeria. Their release comes after joint efforts by the Chinese and Nigerian governments.
Tired but in high spirits, the five Chinese telecom workers said that during their captivity they never doubted their final release.
Kong Quan, assistant foreign minister, said, "We are glad to see you all back home. Chinese foreign ministry staff and Chinese companies working overseas have made safety a priority. But this incident should be a reminder to many others to look out for their safety while abroad."
