Special team from kidnapped workers´ company arrives in Nigeria

A special team from China's Sichuan Telecommunication Company has arrived in Nigeria to resolve the current kidnapping issue.

Under the leadership of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, the team of seven will co-operate with the Nigerian authorities with the aim to have the five Chinese freed.

At Tuesday's Foreign Ministry press conference, the spokesman said five Chinese workers kidnapped in Nigeria were safe.

Liu Jianchao, Foreign Ministry spokesman, said, "The Chinese government and Chinese Embassy in Nigeria are trying all efforts to free the hostages. For the sake of the rescue work, I can't give more details for the moment. But the five Chinese nationals are safe. "
