US: No role in Saddam Hussein´s hanging

The US military officials said that US forces had no role in Saddam Hussein's hanging. The comments were in response to controversy over a video of Saddam being mocked just before he was killed, which has sparked outrage around the world.

US military spokesman Major General William Caldwell said the US forces left all security measures at Saddam's execution to Iraqi authorities, and that the Iraqi government would conduct an investigation into the release of the video.

William Caldwell, said, "If you are asking me would we have done things differently, yes we would have, but that's not our decision, that's a government of Iraq decision. The multi-national force had absolutely no direct involvement with that what's ever."
