Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is continuing to hold talks with officials from Lebanon, Kuwait, Syria and the Palestinian territories. They are in Tehran to attend the conference of the Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace, also known as the AAPP.
President Ahmadinejad told Syrian Parliament Speaker, Mahmoud Al-Arbash, the two countries should work together to promote justice in the world. He added that neighboring states should remain vigilant and not allow other countries to gain a foothold in the region. The AAPP conference opened on Sunday with a speech from the Iranian President. Parliament speakers and representatives from 39 Asian member states and 20 non-members are taking part in the three-day conference.
This is expected to lay the groundwork for the establishment of an AAPP general assembly.
