Sri Lankan police have arrested fourteen supporters of the opposition leader and former army chief, General Sarath Fonseka, in the town of Panadura, south of the capital, Colombo.
They were demonstrating against the court-martial of the General.
Police used tear gas to disperse protesters. Two protesters were injured and hospitalized. The country's opposition and human rights groups have condemned the arrest of General Fonseka.
