The DPRK and the ROK have exchanged artillery fire along their disputed western sea border. So far there have been no reports of casualties or damage. This is the second time in three months the two sides have clashed.

The ROK's Joint Chief of Staff says the DPRK fired about 30 rounds of artillery from its coast on Wednesday. The South side responded immediately by firing a hundred warning shots.

The ROK presidential Blue House says both sides fired into the air, not at each other. It has called a meeting of top national security officials.

The exchange of fire came shortly after the DPRK declared two no-sailing zones in waters south of the disputed border in the Yellow Sea.

Pyongyang later confirmed the firing and says it will continue to do so.
