Special Report: Failed Christmas day attack |

The US embassy in Yemen has reopened, and others have resumed operations. A number of embassies closed or limited visitor numbers 2 days ago, amid fears of terror attacks on foreign interests. But Yemen's increased security has eased concerns.

At an undisclosed location, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh visits an armed forces camp. Yemen TV shows him addressing the troops, who've been clashing with al-Qaeda militants. Security forces killed two suspected members of the terror group, northeast of the Yemeni capital on Monday.

Fears of an attack on foreign interests forced the French and Czech embassies to close their doors to the public, after the US and Britain shutdown on Sunday.
