Obama says to make decision on new troops for Afghanistan soon

US President Barack Obama says he will make his decision on new troops for Afghanistan in the coming weeks.

Obama made the remarks after meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero on Tuesday.

Obama says his administration is currently going through a very deliberate process to determine how the US will proceed in Afghanistan.

Zapatero said Spain's commitment to Afghanistan remains "firm." The two leaders also discussed Iran, the situation in the Middle East and the US-EU relationship.
