Premier Wen Jiabao speaks on Six-Party talks

After the second three-way summit between China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, Premier Wen Jiabao has talked about the relaunch of Six-Party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

Wen Jiabao reviewed his visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea last week.

He says the visit has obtained certain positive results, achieved through joint efforts of China and the DPRK, as well as the endeavors by all parties.

Wen Jiabao, Chinese Premier, said, "The DPRK had showed no opposition to the talks and expressed willingness to tackle the issue through bilateral and multilateral dialogue. It hopes to improve ties with the United States, as well as with Japan and the Republic of Korea. That is the important impression I got during the visit."

The premier says the re-launch of the six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue opens up new opportunities, but such opportunities could be "fleeting".

Wen Jiabao, Chinese Premier, said, "All parties involved should seize the opportunities and make good use of them, to achieve positive progress. If we miss the chance, it will cost us more effort in the future."

Wen Jiabao called on all parties to make constructive efforts to achieve the goal.
