Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is in Tehran, on a two-day state visit, said Sunday that Turkey is prepared to host talks between Iran, Germany and five members of the UN Security Council.
Davutoglu said Iran's new package of proposals, forms an appropriate basis for talks with the six major powers on important global issues.
He confirmed that talks will begin soon, but did not specify an exact date.
On Wednesday, Iran presented the six countries with new proposals to serve as the basis for talks on a range of security issues, including global nuclear disarmament.
Davutoglu said his country must be involved in resolving Iran's nuclear issue, as Turkey is an important regional stake-holder.
