Germany took an early lead in the first march, but German skipper Andrea Schoepp committed a mistake in the fourth end and left the door open for China.
Opposing team skipper Wang Bingyu took advantage of the chance and collected three points for China in her last shot. China fought back to take a 5-4 lead after 6 ends.
In the 9th end, Wang's last shot failed to reach the center. Schoepp spun her stone to collect two points and Germany retook the lead.
Moving to the last end, Wang's final shot to round the protection stone failed and Germany grabbed another point and beat China 8-6.
China expected a mismatch against underdogs Denmark, but the Danish team would confirm an upset win.
The Chinese side hoped to shake-off the loss to Germany after both sides exchanged leads. Wang failed a double take out in the 6th end.
Denmark scored 3 points. The Danes never looked back after that. They took a commanding 8-3 lead to wrap up the 8th end. China surrendered the game with two ends to go for its second defeat in a row.
