Kohlschreiber, who beat Djokovic in straight sets when the pair last met at the 2009 French Open, fell behind after a 6-3 first set loss, but took the second set 6-2 after winning six games in a row. Kohlscrieber would press again in the third.

Trailing 5-4 and 0-40 in the 10th game of the final set, Djokovic got a reprieve as he took advantage of a spate of unforced errors by his opponent to claw back from the brink of defeat.
